Welcome to the Double Down site and taking some time to learn a bit more about our team of passionate life enthusiasts who are working diligently to bring you the very best CBD and CBG products on the market. We hope that you will come back often as we provide you with what we believe is useful, informative and perhaps on occasion, some fun insight from us about our products, healthy living and who we are.
Which leads right into this week’s update. We want you to get to know us better and put some faces to the names of a truly incredible team we have assembled. We are regular people just like you – who have a zest for all things organic, clean, non-toxic, good food, being active and spending time with our loved ones (included the four-legged kind too!).
This week we are kicking off our Meet the Team series where we will introduce you to the folks who make up Double Down CBD. We are a cool and eclectic mix of extraction specialists, entrepreneurs, tech experts – and even a pharmacist and a veterinarian!

Bryan Woods, Compounding Pharmacist
Bryan Woods is a new member of the Double Down CBD team and brings over 35 years of experience to the company with the last 20 years specializing in the Compounding of specialty alternative drugs.
He received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from San Diego State University and an advanced Professional degree in Pharmacy from the University of Wyoming. Bryan’s contribution to Double Down will be in the formulating of quality efficacous dosage forms for our customers.
Bryan has a deep understanding of CBD’s benefits having been part of San Diego County Planning Commission’s efforts to craft an ordinance to regulate cannabis and CBD dispensaries in San Diego County. He thoughtfully participated in public hearings where over 200 residents presented their feedback to the County Commission. During this time, Bryan heard first-hand the heart breaking stories from parents who were desperate to have access to quality CBD products in San Diego for their children, many of whom suffered from a variety of maladies including pediatric seizures – at the time the only option was to drive over 2 to 3 hours into Los Angeles for quality and effective CBD from approved medical dispensaries.
Since that time, Bryan has been a vocal advocate of CBD usage for his patients and has worked with many Physicians and Veterinarians to provide customized “compounding” of natural alternatives to traditional medications for dogs, cats and horses.
A San Diego native, Bryan enjoys spending his free time with his wife and blended family of 8 children and 13 grandchildren. An avid fly fisherman, golfer and self-described wine aficionado, he is also an animal lover and has raised numerous Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Dr. Crystal Van Lom DVM, Co-founder & GM pet division
Dr. Van Lom joins Double Down CBD as co-founder and general manager of the company’s upcoming pet division. She is the CEO of her own practice The Ranch Concierge Pet Service based in Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Van Lom has been practicing veterinary medicine for nearly two decades and a vocal advocate of alternative therapies for our four-legged companions. Her love of animals started at an early age being surrounded by family pets and parents who were both horse racing professionals.
She received her undergraduate degree in Animal Science with a minor in Chemistry from New Mexico State University and then went on to complete her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Texas A&M University in College Station.
Dr. Van Lom worked at El Paso Animal Emergency & Specialty Referral Center where she dedicated over 18 years towards the care of animals. Over the years she noticed an increasing number of both dogs and cats suffering from arthritis, anxiety, kidney disease and a host of other issues – this piqued her interest in alternatives to traditional, commonly used veterinary drugs.
In her free time, Dr. Van Lom enjoys yoga and travel as well as spending time with her own pets – Voltaire a Friesian gelding, Flicka a Sri Lankan star tortoise and her dogs which consists of two Golden Retrievers, Bubba & Betta; Papillon, Simone; Cane Corso, Zane and two rescues Bella and Cornova.
